Bimb vs Screenity
Looking for a Screenity alternative? Bimb is a Chrome extension that records a tab, window or screen and zooms in on every click, with no account to record and nothing uploaded. Here is how it compares with Screenity (Free open-source Chrome extension + paid cloud editor).
Checked 24 Sep 2026 against Screenity’s own pages. We make Bimb, so read this with that in mind. Prices change, so check the linked pages.
| Bimb | Screenity | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Chrome extension (Chrome, Edge, Brave) | Free open-source Chrome extension + paid cloud editor |
| Auto-zoom | Auto-zoom on clicks. Every click, or follow-cursor mode | Auto-zoom on clicks. In the paid editor: clicks become zooms |
| Beyond the browser tab | No. Screen and window recordings have no click data, so no auto-zoom | Not stated |
| Where your video lives | Local only. No account to record | Recorder local; editor in the cloud (EU) |
| Price | Free to record. Pro $49 early-bird (first 200), then $79 one-time | Recorder free. Editor $10/mo |
Where Bimb is behind
- Auto-zoom needs click data, and an extension only sees clicks inside the tab it records. Screen and window recordings get no auto-zoom (Cursorful has the same limit; Tella’s extension too). Desktop apps such as Screen Studio, FocuSee and Canvid track the mouse system-wide.
- No webcam bubble and no auto-captions yet. Tella, FocuSee and Canvid have both.
- Chrome, Edge and Brave only. No Firefox or Safari, and no native desktop app.
- Young product: fewer integrations and no team or cloud features. Bimb is a single-user tool by design.
When Bimb is the better pick over Screenity
- You record web apps: bug reports, PR walkthroughs, changelog GIFs and docs.
- Your video must stay on your machine, and you don’t want an account just to record.
- You want WebM, MP4 or GIF with presets for those jobs, and a one-time price instead of a plan.
